Wildwood Cello Duo

About

The Wildwood Cello duo is formed of two award-winning cellists, composers, and music educators Keena Wildman and Rebekah Woodier based in Scotland. Having formed in 2025, they have performed in venues such as the Sunart Centre (Strontian), Solas Eige (Isle of Eigg), and Music in Aberfoyle. Recent highlights include their project ‘Wild like the Wolf’ funded by Stirling Council, exploring the legends of wolves from Stirling and folk traditions throughout the world, performing in the Fort William Mountain Festival, and their autumn tour Samhain Sounds, in which they ran music sessions for young families alongside performances in rural communities. Throughout their concerts, they blend folk, classical music, and original works with storytelling to explore themes of nature and folk legends. In Samhain Sounds, they explored legends of the Cailleach and other northern stories of the coming of winter.

Both of them are passionate about bringing music to more parts of Scotland, exploring themes of environmental awareness in their music, and encouraging people of all ages in their musical journeys through educational projects. Their love of education has been fuelled by our work with Sistema Scotland, as they both work part-time at Big Noise in Raploch and with the Benedetti Foundation.
